Get ID Name of Symbol?!

Hi,

This is a very easy question! How do you return the ID of a symbol and NOT the actual name? Currently Im using 'sym.getSymbolTypeName()' which returns the symbol name, how do i get the ID name which is set in the properties of the symbol on stage?
