I have a question regarding the duration of the main timeline. When there are no symbols with their own timelines placed in the main timeline, the duration of the main timeline correctly shows as the length of this timeline. When you place a symbol with a long timeline of it's own on the main timeline, you now see those little greyed arrows on the main timeline (the hints for the "playback" control for that symbol). The problem is that now that duration (as returned by getDuration();) is now the same length as the really long symbol.
In short, placing a symbol with a long timeline onto the main timeline changes the main timeline's duration property. Can anyone comment on whether there is a way around this, or is this a bug?
