Does Edge Animate stream pictures?

I've built a slideshow using about 20 pictures, each about 20k. Using ordinary jQuery I'd expect the slideshow to appear without delay. But with Edge Animate, it seems the whole slideshow has to load before the first one appears.

When I published the show I chose the OAM option so I could easily import it into a Dreamweaver page. The OAM file is about 1 Mb. Would it be faster if I'd made the whole page in Edge Animate?
