how to add to Edge Animate for PhoneGap?

I want to get iPhone video to paly inline in my PhoneGap app.

PhoneGap offers a solution, <preference name="AllowInlineMediaPlayback" value="true"/> which is given in a config.xml file, placed at the top-level.

Does any one know if I can incorporate a config.xml file that will not conflict with the EA files, or if I can put the <preference name="AllowInlineMediaPlayback" value="true"/> somewhere in the published EA index.html and index_edge.js files so PhoneGap can pick it up?

Any solution appreciated. Edge 2014.1.1, Win7 64bit.
