I'd like to make a hybrid responsive banner design. I'd like to make the layout background (just a simple rectangle with a gradient) fit a full width of the screen (or <div>) with a pre-set height. Then, the design elements inside of this would adapt to the height, keeping the proportions.
In effect, it would fit various devices' displays, without taking too much vertical space on a ultra-widescreen displays. The design will be thin, with just the background gradient beyond the content (design elements).
Is this possible? (Providing you did understand my maybe not-so-clear description)
