What laptop specs for better performance?
Hi,
I'm using Edge CC 2014,
I have always seen a "lag" in some actions, like when double click to open a symbol, it takes 3 seconds, or zoom in /out takes 0.5 second.
I thought it was normal on Edge, but a friend started using Edge and in his Mac is double faster, it has the same processor, memory and video chip.
Mine is an ASUS Q500A i7 quad-core, 8 RAM, Intel video 4000, Windows 8.1
please help. Could you suggest what laptop specs would give Edge better performance during development?. Edge would use a video card GPU during developmen?

So i figured out why my sites wont work in chrome&opera!
so i have big problems getting sites to load in certain browsers.
ive been at it for 2weeks now.but now ive figured out why,i took out all the sound efx mp3 files.
now my site loads perfect in everysite
this site below will only work in chrome and safari.
http://www.trebaltek.ca but still takes long to load sometimes.
because it still has sound files ill take out later.
my roycegdesign site,when it had sound it would only work in firefox and safari.
they both screwed up in opera like crazy with sound.
you can still see the example of what opera does to my trebaltek site with sound files in it.
but i desided to take the sound out of my roycegdesign site and vwaaalaaaa ,it finally works in all browser's ive tested.
im on a mac,so im unable to test it on IE,unless some one dosnt mind letting me know if it works on IE.
but ya for now on,all sites i make with edge with not include sound files until browsers are able to load them much better in the future.

Why isn't a layered animation visible on top of a movie when you Preview in Browser?
- I'm using the latest version of EA CC (2014)
- Imported a video
- Converted it into a symbol
- Added a controller... plays fine on its timeline, or Preview in Browser
Then, I did the following...
- Double-clicked the symbol of the video
- Created an animation to play on top of it
- Everything previews fine on the symbol's timeline
Here's the problem...
- When I Preview in Browser, the video plays fine, but the animation that I layered on top, is not visible at all
- Please advise, thanks.

Using Sprite Sheets?
Hi
I created a sprite sheet in Flash and imported it into Edge Animate, all is well.
In Animate I now see the individual cells of the sprite sheet as Symbols, but now what? How do I actually bring each symbol into Animate to duplicate the animation on the Animate timeline? I'm just not seeing the forest through the trees....

Objects changed position (without me making any changes)
Hi Adobe,
I just got back from vacation and discovered that my website now looks really, really strange: Bewersdorf Laboratory
As you can see in the left image below, many of the animated objects are not were they are supposed to be.
... These objects all used to be hidden behind the big black circle in the middle of the image, as shown in the right image below.
I haven't made any changes to the website since the beginning of July (2014), so I am guessing something changed in Chrome (the browser I am using).
Is there anything I can do to fix this, without redoing the whole animation?

Firefox is temperamental with displaying EA compositions
Hey guys - would really appreciate some help here
I have a parallax site that has a mind of it's own when displayed in firefox.
Sometimes it works and other times it does not. I cannot work out why this may be the case. But hitting refresh will either
- make it stop working OR
- make it work
I thought it was breaking because the user started scrolling before everything was loaded.. so I created a pre-loader. But it seems it has no effect.
Maybe a potential Firefox bug?

Can different symbols share the same trigger?
Hi!
i have 4 buttons all animated on the same timeline. Each is text that's converted into a symbol.
i used sym.getSymbol("about").play("over"); for each with their respective symbol names in the hopes that each with trigger individually, but mousing over one triggers the rest too.
Can anyone point me in the right direction pls? Thx!

Edge animate - motion paths.
Hi. Built a motion path but the passage of my object along the path is very jerky - speeding up or down depending on a) proximity to path handle, and b) length of curve handlers on each point. Any ideas how I can smooth things out? Thanks

Edge animate and Cordova build
So recently I was trying out some edge commons functions and have gotten them to work on browsers. So I wanted to do a little experiment so I've decided to try compile the project with cordova build. Well was hoping for it to work but it seems like somewhere went wrong and when I run the apk, it wasn't even able to retrieve the list of items from the JSON file.
basically the program just loads a list of items from the click of a button and you can also click on the black box on the right to display an image.

Text Tool box don't show up, when clicking on the text
Text Tool box don't show up, when clicking on the text... I can change the text, but I'm blind without the Text Tool box, that used to show up. Any idea?

Video wont render in FireFox on Mac?

Stop triggers ignored.
Hello everyone,
I seem to be having a problem many nubies do.
I open a file.
At 2sec I put a red square.
I also put a trigger and select "stop" from the side menu in the action window (so this problem isn't with coding, I'm not entering anything myself but using the provided code)
I also put the word "circle" on the stage with a "sym.play(2.1)" to continue the action after i click on the word circle.
I put a grey circle at 2.5
after the circle would appear (at 2.5), I wanted the entire animation to stop.
So I put another trigger, after the circle appears, again from the menu provided.
Of course the result of this is that the animation pauses and waits form me to click the word "circle" then proceeds to show the grey circle;
but only for a milisecond before looping back to the beginning of the animation (presumably because it reached the end and started over as usual)
my question is: why doesn't the second trigger - sym.stop(); - stop the animation instead of letting it reach the end? I've tried putting specific numbers in the parenthesis, also tried making labels
and using them in the parenthesis. Also tried using - play(); - and - sym.play(); - with numbers and labels to create loops to endlessly stall the animation as a pseudo stop.
all to no avail. After the first trigger that pauses it at the red square, there is no stopping this train, it always reaches the end and loops (which i know the loop always happens there.)
Anyway, I can't continue learning this awesome program until I'm sure of how to stop. (also been frustrated with "Play from" functions relating to audio files, but that's a whole 'nother sandwich.

Trying to create HTML5 Video Playlist in Edge Animate - I can't get it to work. Please help!?!?
Hi All,
I am creating an interactive site through Edge Animate and am in the process of trying to create a HTML 5 Video Playlist to function within Edge Animate.
Current Process - Example:
I have 3 videos that need to be played on a certain page.
I created a symbol and dragged the videos to the stage and hidden them within that symbol's timeline.
I then use thumbnail images in a side playlist to either .remove(); .hide(); a video and .show(); the next.
However when I do a hide / show option, the video continue to plays in the background if I don't also create an if/else statement to pause it.
My concern with pausing it is that it will continue to load and dramatically slow down the load time of the site.

How do I change the bounds of a symbol?
I have created a symbol, consisting of several animated elements. The symbol has it's own timeline, and is part of a larger composition.
Now that I have created the symbol, it turns out that I need to change the size and position of some of it's elements, so that they now extend beyond the original boundaries of the symbol. The problem is that on playback, the symbol seems to clip to it's original boundaries, and I don't know how to adjust those to fit the new layout.

Edge Animate freezes constantly
When I try to open a composition, I have to attempt it up to 10 times (open, freeze, force quit, try again...) before the composition will finally load up. I could write it off as a corrupted media file if it were in any way consistent, but it always EVENTUALLY works. This happens across multiple compositions, and I cannot find the file that locks it up. I assume it is some linked media file, but I'm not sure.
This program has great potential. It's truly sad that it seems to be the glitchiest software I use. It is beyond frustrating.

SVGs graphics in Edge crashes iPad and iOS devices
I've just encountered some serious issues when using SVG content graphics on an iOS device.
I'm using a iPad mini v6.1.3
When you pinch to zoom into an Edge project which uses SVG graphics Safari on the iOS crashes nearly everytime, particualrly when reaching max zoom.
Only seems to do this in an Edge project. If I load the SVG directly into the iOS web browser I can zoom right into maxamum zoom without fault.
Has anyone experienced this?
Can the issue be fixed? Otherwise it looks like we can use SVGs in our projects.

Edge animate crashing while saving...
Edge animate always fails while saving one of my projects. I tried it in different systems but still the same issue. Does edge have a limit in no of symbols??? because i have about 100 symbols.... can you provide me with a patch or something for this issue. Please reply ASAP. I am attaching the project here..
